30 HOUR NOVEL SHORTLIST

Earlier this month we announced that we would be judging the NanoWriWee entries. Considering the parameters of the competition, we were amazed by the quality of many of the entries. Below are the names of the shortlisted novellas. In two weeks, we’ll announce the overall winner. The winning novella will be published in ebook by HarperCollins later this year.

The shortlisted entries, in no particular order, are:

  • POV by Chris Brosnahan
  • Why Didn’t They Run by Kelly Rimmer
  • Fixing Evil by Mark Slade
  • Among the Dead by Amber Roatche
  • The Way We Wur by Stuart Paterson
  • Tokyo Pizza by Michael Lane
  • The Answer by Eugenio Triana
  • Life on the Bone by Asheem Singh
  • Inflight by Chris Wright
  • Innocence Lives in an Eyrie by Vaibhav Saini
  • Hair by Zan McDowell
  • Blackthorne and Rose by K. G. McAbee
  • Singularity by Paul Coxen

Congratulations to everyone who took part and achieved something pretty amazing in just a weekend. Watch this space for news of the overall winner!

Well, there's my Pizza. Excellent. Whether it wins or not, that's a good final 13.

This was a talented and wonderful group of participants. Those who posted on FB, during the competition provided such valuable moral support. Hope we'll all link up once more, next year, if the competition runs again. Although the Kernel is no more, thanks again for providing this unique opportunity. Happy, naturally, that Hair's been shortlisted but am still hoping that a couple anthologies could come out of this to include the various entries up on Google Drive. Let's continue to dream and to work towards realizing our dreams, as apparently, some dreams do come true! BTW, are the Google Drive entries to remain public indefinitely or should we deselect sharing with "anyone with a link", now?

Zan had a great question - at what point should we reset the google drive access?

Feel free to reset the access whenever you want. We have copies of all the shortlisted titles.

Thanks!
