After weeks of having to keep it a secret I am delighted to be able to announce that I am one of the judges for the 2014 Dundee International Book Prize alongside author Neil Gaiman, the BBC’s Kirsty Lang, agent Felicity Blunt and critic Stuart Kelly.
I am not just telling you this purely to blow my own trumpet – although it is quite cool to be on the panel with those other judges – but because I am hoping that lots of you will choose to enter.
You see, the prize awards a book deal and £10,000 in cash to an unpublished debut novelist. You’ll need to check out the small print on the prize website but as long as you haven’t had a novel published before then you are pretty much eligible. Although you can enter if you have previously self-published the work on ebook, which is pretty cool.
But don’t hang about. The closing date is March 3rd.
Pop on over to the prize website for more details. And good luck if you decide to enter!
